Rolfing in Graz
Rolfing Structural Integration
is a type of holistic bodywork, the intention of which is the integration of mind, breath and body (similar to yoga) via manipulation of the fascia, the supportive network of connective tissue surrounding muscles, joints, nerves and organs. Such integration results in:clearer thinking
more effortless breathing
easier movement
Based on her hands-on work with people who came to her seeking relief from pain and dysfunction, Dr Ida P. Rolf (1896-1979) developed a method for bettering the relationship between the body and gravity: Rolfing Structural Integration.
Unlike massage, the aim of Rolfing is lasting structural and functional change. Rolfing is not a treatment for specific health problems, though improvements in existing conditions often result as a "side effect" of the sessions.
